Meet Bels–the crafty and creative lady behind Felt Soph Fun.

We’re back with features on the folks behind the handmade love coming your way at the next Maker’s Market!  We’d love for you to see the felt creations of Bels Lustria, under her handmade brand, Felt Soph Fun.

What do you make? How did you get into it?
I make felt accessories. I also do custom orders like key chains, passport holders, key holders, ornaments and many more.
It was a year after my daughter’s first birthday that I discovered my passion for making accessories. I noticed that I enjoyed spending time between mommy duties and making her accessories myself and somehow my outlet for stress.

Are you a full-time crafter? If not, what is your day job?
Yes! Crafter at night, mommy at day time!

If you’re a full-time crafter, what made you take the leap and pursue your craft?
My passion! I’m always excited to create new things and share it to everyone.

What motivates you in pursuing this business?
The feeling of appreciation I get from customers.

These felt and ribbon keychains sure are yummy on the eyes!

What are some of the challenges of maintaining a craft business?
Time, production and marketing.

What’s a new skill–craft or business–that you’d like to learn?
I’ve always wanted to learn calligraphy.

What’s your most recent craft business milestone?
It’s such a big milestone for me to showcase my craft in different bazaars.

What is your favorite lesson in your experience of your business?
I learned that you should never be afraid of pursuing the impossible.
Always keep the faith because you know everything will work out in the end.

What craft business advice can you share with other aspiring entrepreneurs?
Start reaching for people’s hearts rather than their wallets. Once you do, they will appreciate more and money will follow.

Um, if you were a craft tool, what would you be? And why?
A needle! It shows the detail of every stitch.
