What do you make? How did you get into it?
I make crochet fashion accesories. 🙂 The ability to crochet runs in the family, but i was not really interested in it [at first]. Then when i was in high school, our teacher taught us how to make a single chain crochet…and the rest is history.

I started this business last May 2014, after joining a bazaar in Escolta. 🙂

Are you a full-time crafter? If not, what is your day job?
I’m not a full time crafter. I’m a graduate student at DLSU, taking up Masters in History. Im also a part-time instructor at the Technological University of the Philippines-Taguig.

What motivates you in pursuing this business?
Three things:
-For the love of the arts. I consider crochet as my passion, and my form of art.
-To fight stress, ‘coz crochet keeps me alive and happy, hehe
-To earn (pantawid gutom) 🙂 jk

What are some of the challenges of maintaining a craft business?
Time. Hehehehe.

What’s a new skill–craft or business–that you’d like to learn?
Soap making and silk screen printing 🙂

More charmingly bohemian pieces coming your way this weekend!

What’s your most recent craft business milestone?
Hopefully next year, I’ll open a crochet store on Taft Avenue. Praying hard for this. 🙂

What is your favorite lesson in your experience of your business?
You cant please everyone. If you will continue listening to “negaTrons” around you, your business will never succeed.

What craft business advice can you share with other aspiring entrepreneurs?
You really really need to love what you do. You need to have a “deepest why” in doing the business. If your deepest why is just to earn and get rich, then there’s a big problem…the crafts business is not for you.

Um, if you were a craft tool, what would you be? And why?
A crochet hook, because for me, it symbolizes “endless posibilities”.

What can we expect to see from you guys at the upcoming Maker’s Market?
I’ve learned to crochet using wire, so expect more of this “newly learned skill” at the Maker’s Market. Aside from that, more colorful crochet fashion accessories that will surely make anyone happy. 🙂
